Look what showed up at our office this morning! An absolutely stunning 1948 Cadillac Fleetwood. We love all things vintage, and yes, we understand it isn’t a camper, but we just couldn’t go without sharing it with you. Of course, we were also thinking how amazing it would look parked in front of our recently sold 1948 Vagabond camper too! Send us your vintage photos and we will get them posted: HappyCamper@CampyClassics.com

Campy Classics needs your help! Here’s the issue in a nut shell… We get over 100 unique hits per day on our website, however, we have only had a half dozen comments in the last few weeks. So, tell us what we are doing wrong… or right! Post a comment under something you find interesting, or send us an email at HappyCamper@CampyClassics.com (along with a photo too if you’d like)! We will then review your comments, thought, suggestions and praises and do more, or less of something that you will want to see on the website in the future.
Now is the time! Give us all you’ve got… the good, the bad, the ugly and of course, the amazing! :-) We want this to be a site for you to enjoy. A site you will want to come back to time and time again.
We look forward to hearing from each and every one of you!
Until next time, happy camping!
DUH! We got an immediate (within less than 1 minute of our post) email from Canada asking how to post a comment! I guess we never thought of that!!! So, if you want to post a comment, click on the little Post-It note in the upper right hand corner of each blog post. That will open up a comment box for you to leave something in. You can also read other comments left by doing the same thing! Thank you so much to our friends to the north!
Cheers!

I was recently reading one of my favorite magazines, Natural Home, when on the very last page I found an article on a couple who had ‘recycled’ a vintage Airstream Flying Cloud with as many green elements as they could and are now travelling across the country educating people on sustainability and small-space living. You’ll enjoy checking out their website at www.EcoDiscoveryTour.com and seeing the restoration photos and AMAZING new interior of their trailer. I am excited about keeping up with John and Kate’s travels through their blog, even though I am a bit green with envy!

Can you imagine camping in a wool suit or dress? This image is from 1948 and captures the ‘formal feel’ of the day. Thank you Jenny H. for sending us this photo!

Good Buys on Vintage Travel Trailers are still around, all you have to do is look. We’ ve found that looking in places off the beaten path can yield amazing results! This trailer trailer was recently sold at a farmer’s auction for ONLY $100! I can attest to it’s solid build and tight roof as just after these photos were taken, the sky opened up for a solid hour of true farmer’s delight… a torrential downpour… and I was stuck in the trailer with four other ‘bargain seekers.’
